Frequently asked
Q.What is the minimum investment in PMS?
SEBI prescribes a minimum investment of ₹50 lakh per client in a PMS. It can usually be funded in cash, in eligible securities you already hold, or a combination, subject to the Portfolio Manager's terms.
Q.How is PMS different from a mutual fund?
In a mutual fund you own units of a pooled scheme. In a PMS you own the individual securities directly in your own demat account, the portfolio is usually more concentrated, and fees and taxation apply at the level of your own portfolio. Higher concentration can mean higher volatility.
Q.Who manages my money, and who holds it?
The SEBI registered Portfolio Manager manages the portfolio under the agreement you sign with it. Securities are held in your own name through a custodian and depository. As the distributor, we do not manage the portfolio and never accept funds in our own account.
Q.What fees are charged?
Each Portfolio Manager discloses its fees in the Disclosure Document — fixed management fees, performance-linked fees, or a combination — along with exit loads and other charges. We receive distribution fees from the Portfolio Manager, and will tell you the amount on request.
Q.Are returns guaranteed?
No. PMS investments are subject to market risks and the value of your portfolio can fall below the amount invested. A Portfolio Manager's past performance does not indicate its future performance.
